What is the opportunity?

We are seeking an DevOps Engineer to support our developer community by providing tools and technology support for DevOps tools on the pipeline.

You will gain experience across various tech stacks through collaboration with Developers and Engineers across the US Cash Management program who rely on your partnership to help solve technical challenges. With the goal to transform and accelerate our software delivery by providing tools and technology support. The role will also focus on for supporting our customers, assist with automation and maintain and Administer tools as the central orchestrator of Agile and DevOps activities with a mandate to drive down delivery/change lead times.

What will you do?

  • Work as an important and inclusive member of DevOps & SRE team.
  • Develop automation and infrastructure as code to improve operational consistency and efficiency.
  • Work with developers to debug and solve developer build and deployment issues working with RBC’s DevOps pipelines.
  • Work with the Cloud Adoption and Support teams to ensure efficient service delivery and act as an escalation point for incidents
  • Support implementation of DevOps practices and tools and review / write code in either Python, Java or shell scripting to support business needs and requirements.
  • Staying up to date with DevOps best practices and informing Tech and Engineering leadership and strategy on best alternatives for tooling choices.
  • Look for opportunities to ideate and improve the product and continually expand what is possible through technology.
  • Develop, measure, and monitor ongoing effectiveness of DevOps solutions including production and maintenance support.

What do you need to Succeed?

Must Have

  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in the areas delineated below
  • Completely proficient and confident with at least 5 of the following
  • Curious about how things work and can dig deep into multiple levels of software stack - networking, OS and application layer.
  • Experience writing scripts to automate operational tasks (eg. Shell, Ansible, Python).
  • A passion for making developers more efficient through DevOps, CI/CD, Automation, and Infrastructure as Code principles
  • Strong understanding of at-least one high level programming language (ex. JAVA, Python, Go, etc.)
  • Git core concepts and using Github or any Git based SCM
  • DevOps tools like Jenkins, Urban Code Deploy.
  • Container repositories like Azure ACR or Artifactory
  • Understanding on monitoring and SRE tools like Dynatrace
  • Worked on Linux or *nix platforms
  • Core container orchestration concepts including building, deploying and working with containers - Docker or Containerd
  • Understanding of Kubernetes
  • Using Azure or AWS CLI
